Wärtsilä has been contracted to supply an energy storage system to Zenith Energy, an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Australia. Zenith sells most of its electricity to large mining companies, so the 9.2 MW / 8.7MWh energy storage will address cyclical load demand in an underground mine, operating in parallel with an engine-driven power plant.
