Electrification of transport and industry is likely to push up Germany’s power demand by 18.7% on 2020 levels to 665 Terrawatt-hours (TWh) by 2030, economy minister Peter Altmaier disclosed today. This implies a renewables and hydrogen build-out, if Germany wants to meet its green energy target.
