India is keen on more reliable power generation capacity and offers tax holidays for plant operators, according to the recently published first budget of president Modi’s new government. “Supply of power continues to be a major area of concern for the country,” Arun Jaitley, the Indian Minister of Finance said, adding he would “extend the 10 year tax holiday” for companies working in power generation, distribution or transmission.
