General Electric has commissioned the Junliangcheng combined heat and power (CHP) plant that covers the electricity and district heating needs of over 100,000 citizens in Tianjin, China's third largest city. The 650 MW cogeneration plant, powered by GE equipment, was built in replacement of a coal-fired unit to help achieve the government's emission targets.
