Sask Power has agreed to pay $120 million for buying all shares of its JV partner Canadian Utilities in the 260-MW Cory cogeneration plant in Saskatchewan province. The gas-fired CHP creates process steam for Nutrien’s potash mine while all electricity from the plant is fed into the regional grid. The deal coincides with ATCO’s move to divest its entire Canadian fossil power portfolio for around $835 million.
