Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems’ (MHPS) turbine, model M501 JAC, has been chosen to power what will become Virginia’s highest efficiency combined-cycle power stations. Developed by Gemma Power Systems and Balico, the Chickahominy CCGT will provide over 1,600 MW of electricity once completed in 2022.
Harrison Power is seeking to fast-tracking construction at its 1,100 MW combined-cycle power project in Cadiz, Harrison Country, Ohio. Though the groundbreaking date has been pushed back to Q1-2019, developers are seeking to get the CCGT into full commercial operation in the second quarter of 2021, providing electricity into the PJM Interconnection market.
General Electric and Japan’s Sumitomo Corp. will build Sharjah’s first combined-cycle power station in Hamriyah, UEA, under a public-private partnership with Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA). The 1.8 GW project will consists of three blocks, the first of which is slated to come online in May 2021.
