German election winner Social Democrats (SPD) wants to fast-track coalition talks with the Green Party and the Liberals (FDP). Though FDP leader Christian Linder said there would be “no parallel talks with the Conservatives,” negotiations could take months and are hard-fought on climate action; so Angela Merkel might still be in office by Christmas.
