Tough critics warned a prolonged outage of the 1,360 MW Didcot B power station could disrupt supply stability, National Grid said in its Winter Outlook 2014/15 gas supplies remained strong after last year's mild winter. Gas-fired capacity remain higher than the maximum expected demand, but reserve margins have narrowed further which is why the grid operator has struck deals with three power plants operators to keep plants in reserve.
