Gas price pooling will help revive Indian power producer NTPC’s flagship power plant, the 1,967 MW Dabhol facility south of Mumbai, according to the firm’s chairman Arup Roy Choudhury. The plant has sat idle due to lack of gas supply following constraints and political wrangling over the power purchase agreement between the plant’s owners and state power utility, Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB).
