Royal Dutch Shell has just launched Europe’s largest PEM hydrogen electrolyser – called Refhyne – at its refinery in Rheinland, Germany, and already plans to scale up the 10 MW facility to 100 MW. At the Wesseling site of the refinery, Shell also aims to produce aviation fuel from renewables as well as bio-LNG.
