German carmaker Porsche, together with Siemens Energy, is developing the world’s first industry-scale synthetic fuels plant in Chile. The ‘Haru Oni’ pilot project uses wind farms around the city of Puntas Arenas to generate green hydrogen, which is then combined with CO2 filtered from the air in MAN Energy Solutions’ methanol reactor to produce methanol.
