The use of a hybrid fire suppression system to tackle fires in power plants can reduce operator's costs and safeguard equipment in the event of accidents, according to manufacturer Victaulic. "Our Vortex system is unique in using nitrogen and water to suppress fires and produces nearly zero wetting of protected areas preventing the need for costly clean up or equipment replacement," Dan Christian, director for oil, gas and power markets at Victaulic told Gas to Power Journal.
