With biogas becoming increasingly popular, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has developed novel polymer membrane material that can dramatically improve the efficiency of gas purification. Contaminants, such as CO2, are inherent in both natural gas and biogas to various degrees, so it needs to be purified before it can be burnt as fuel.
